- Serpula lacrymans, which is mostly found in outdoor environments
- Ulocladium, which is often found in the aftermath of severe water damage

Of these mold types, black mold is the most dangerous to humans, as it can cause serious side effects such as fatigue, headaches, respiratory problems, and even memory loss. Although this type of mold is relatively rare, it is possible for it to build up within homes. This is especially true for older homes that have a moist environment.
